This mitt meets ASTM F1060-08 standard test method for thermal protective performance of materials for protective clothing for hot surface contact. Indeed, this mitt provides a level 4 protection, that is, up to 450°F (230°C), against dry thermal burn which may occur during food processing.

The heavy terry knit protects hands against contact heat through its loops and its tight plain weave.
